My beliefs, feelings, and perceptions are always in flux. How I experience things today often differs from how I’ll remember them in the future. Sometimes, when I reconnect with the past, I can still feel love for a person or place; other times, I’m certain I never did, as my memory rewrites the evidence. I also find myself nostalgic for moments I once resented or rebelled against.

While I’ve experienced anemoia—a longing for something beyond my lived reality—what I’m describing is different. It’s about the fluidity of memory and its ability to reshape what we’ve gone through. How far can it stretch, shrink, bend, or thicken? And the question remains: which version holds more truth?

While I keep pondering the answer, my hands keep moving…
